What if meditation was effortless?
Like a cloud floating by Vedic Meditation is a simple, natural, innocent technique for de-exciting the mind and providing deep levels of rest.
What is Vedic Meditation?
Vedic Meditation - an ancient and effective technique to calm the mind and reap numerous benefits. By using simple yet powerful mantras, this automatic self-transcendent technique helps us achieve deep states of rest that are 2-5 times deeper than sleep.
Where does it come from?
Vedic Meditation comes from the Vedas, the ancient body of knowledge governing the laws of nature and human consciousness from which yoga, meditation, and ayurveda are derived. The technique of meditation was brought to the west by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi who was credited for bringing meditation to over 1 million people, he is famed guru of The Beatles.
How does it work?
Modern life is full of demands. Our bodies can go into a fight-or-flight response, triggering stress chemicals to protect us. Unfortunately, this stress is often stored in our physiology, leading to health problems. This ancient practice uses a simple mantra to systematically dissolve layers of deeply held stress accumulated over a lifetime. This restores natural balance to your mind, body, and soul, allowing you to perform at your peak.
How can I learn?
Our courses are taught in-person over four consecutive days, with each session lasting about 90 minutes. With no prior meditation experience or special equipment required, anyone can learn this technique and experience its profound effects. We teach monthly courses in Wollongong CBD.
I'm Barron Hanson, a Vedic Meditation initiator and UOW alumni with a deep passion for this ancient practice. I discovered Vedic Meditation while living in New York City and was immediately drawn to its powerful benefits. This practice helped me to find balance in the midst of the city's intense energy, increased my adaptation energy, and enabled me to make better decisions.
After six years of dedicated practice and two years of advanced knowledge courses, I underwent over 2000 hours of training to become an initiator and teacher of Vedic Meditation. Today, I am proud to be recognized by the Shankacharya tradition in India to teach this technique as it has been taught for thousands of years. I am committed to sharing this practice with others, helping them to achieve the same profound benefits that I have experienced.
